I generally turn it on about 15 minutes before going to bed , read for a half hour or so , and then turn it off , as the room has become quite cool , and the outside temperature has dropped to cooler level . The one problem is the machine is a lot louder than I anticipated , which could be a problem if I need to run it all night.
