    Kitchen aid is one of the best name brand items. I still use my old 325 watt 4.5 qt. tilt mixer kitchen aid to whip egg whites.

    Nice power. I just ground 20 pounds of ice cold venison and the kitchen aid didn't heat up.

    Sounds good, no hinge to work loose kneading stiff dough...

    We've been baking more and have been beating up the old Artisan tilt-head mixer this replaces. On those mixers, a wad of stiff dough works the hinge loose and it requires occasional tightening. The Artisan doesn't sound good with a dough hook... This 'bowl lift' Professional mixer has no hinge to work loose, and sounds like a real machine, doesn't do the shake, rattle, and roll like the machine it replaced. The Artisan 'tilt head' models are fine for cakes, meringues or whipping cream, but this Professional model does all that, has no hinge to work loose, and sounds really good kneading dough.
