    50mm Summilux-M 1.4 ASPH: a fantastic lens

    The modern silver Summilux (1.4) 50mm M mount is a fantastic lens. Sharp, fantastic build quality, smooth focus and aperture, built-in hood and modern look. In spite of the high price tag, I would argue the value is good as those lenses retain and may even increase in value. The silver version of the 50mm is heavier than its black counterpart. If weight is an issue, I'd recommend the black version, or an older non-aspherical version.

    The best 50mm f1.4 period!

    The Leica Summilux-M 50mm f1.4 is one if not the best standard lenses in the world. The image quality is sharp with ultra smooth Leica signature bokeh. I have the silver chrome version which has the brass barrel, and the craftsmanship is the best I've seem in any lenses.

    Best all around lens . Does it all ! Best value lens. Yes expensive ! But what lens can you buy and use 5 years and sell it for what you paid it? None? Don’t settle for almost ? that cost you ?
