Page Turner and Captivating Photos
I purchased the second and third installments of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series from ThriftBooks. These books have captured my attention since the moment I tore open the wrapping. From cover to cover, Miss Peregrine's Home, Hollow City, and Library of Souls have kept my attention through each loop exploration, monstrous encounters, frazzled accomplishments, and tearful farewells. It's been a major pleasure to go on this journey with these wonderfully peculiar children and it's all thanks to ThriftBooks. The books I purchased from them were in great condition. No tears. No pencil/pen marks. No missing pages. I totally didn't mind the lack of a sleeve. Library of Souls has a beautiful hard book cover with personal hancocks from a floating elephant, a monster hunter, and a tobacco smoking dog. This is definitely one of my top eBay purchases. Totally entralled with this series
I love the uniqueness of the way these stories developed around the author's extensive vintage photo collection. Mr. Riggs has an amazing imagination...so do most authors, but his use of the vintage photos in this series enrich the story, for me, because I think of him poring over the thousands of photos, setting them in order and creating this mind-blowing story. This is the 3rd book in the wonderful, much acclaimed series of Miss Peregrine's home for Peculiar Children. I got a great deal on this HB. I read all 3 books before seeing the new movie; and though the movie is good; the books are Way better! I wish there was another to read. This guy is a great storyteller! Young or old you will not be disappointed with this series, including this last book! Oh, by the way, the REAL (mostly) antique photos that are used for illustrations and the way the author has built part of the story around them is unique and amazing! I like this story as it's unique in the strange and have great characters of people with powers. Keeps you in suspense and it's a good read as well. It's hard to put the book down as you want to know the ending. I have nothing bad to report at all on this product.
