Tier 1 filters are designed to fit Maytag, Amana, Kenmore, Jenn-Air, Whirlpool, and KitchenAid models that have a long and narrow filter fixed in the fridge ceiling. The filters use coconut carbon block media to provide clean and great-tasting water in homes. Their ultra-effective filtration technology reduces rust and corrosion, chlorine odor and taste, silt, sediment, sand, and turbidity. Water has great taste
For the value, you can't go wrong with this filter! I installed this on my parents refrigerator because their old one had never been replaced and the water tasted of a metallic taste. Supposedly this filter was to fit my Jenn-Air Refrigerator ModelUKF8001. It didn't work at all. My old filter needed to be changed, and on removing it and putting in a Filter by pass Plug, the ice maker shut down. Before I called a service person, I patiently waited for the filter to arrive hoping that it might be co-incidental with the ice maker not working. The filter arrived after a week, and didn't connect properly. I quickly ordered a more expensive filter PureH2O #PH21500 and this one worked like a charm, and my ice maker started right up and the water is great!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Maytag makes Whirlpool refrigerators? Who knew? This is an excellent water filter.
This filter fits my 36" wide Whirlpool French Door refrigerator for which the mfr recommended the UKF8001 filter. This filter is exactly the same in size and filtering specifications. Just as good as those sold at the Big Box Stores but at fraction of the price. Some of the water filters at these Retail Stores are $50 and more.
