    Best dimmer switch I have found

    Works great with both incandescent and low energy standard size light bulbs; I haven't tried any other types of bulbs. The switch provides a wide range of light with no flickering, even when very dim. I want one of these for all my lamps! The only setback for me is that this switch has to be plugged into my outlets upside down because my house has it's outlets installed upside down. That means the knob is upside down, and the lamp plug has to go into the top of the switch rather than the bottom. Not a huge deal, and it's worth it for the soft, pleasing light. Great product!

    great idea but...

    In fact this was just what I was looking for BUT of course it is polarized meaning one of the prongs is larger than the other And on a grounded outlet with the ground prong on the bottom it leaves the socket for your lamp or what ever device on top AND the control knob upside down. This could be somewhat to moderately inconvenient in your application. In short , this product is built down side up

    Works good but hums.

    This rheostat works well BUT I used it to control a fan and the unit introduced a high-frequency sound at anything but higher speeds. That's no doubt part of the way a rheostat works so it's just an observation.

    Lamp dimmer

    The dimmer is compact; ideal for limited load up to 150 watts. I tried to dim about 350 watts of outdoor lighting; dimmer overheated and failed. I highly recommend it was not intended to do what I was expecting it to do.

    Works perfectly. Use it to control some LED lights under a computer monitor platform. The top part of my key board was dark at night when I'm working and could not see the the top part of my key board. Now I can adjust the light accordingly to see the my keys Just what I needed. Thanks, Larry
