will outlast me
I did a comparison test between this model and a plastic model. They both sliced and grated well. I think the metal model is a bit easier to use, you just need to pay attention to what you are doing so you don't damage yourself. I knew that and chose the metal one. I have seen the ones with the plastic housings crack. This won't crack.

Vintage KitchenAid rotor slicers are great!
I was glad to find this. The newer models' housings are made of plastic and they crack after prolonged use.
