Synopsis
NATIONAL BESTSELLER - CALDECOTT MEDAL WINNER - The timeless and brilliantly illustrated classic that teaches the importance of kindness, perseverance, and familial love. Let the Mallard family waddle right off the page and into your child's heart! "One of the merriest picture books ever."-- The New York Times Mrs. Mallard was sure that the pond in the Boston Public Gardens would be a perfect place for her and her eight ducklings to live. But when the busy streets of Boston become too risky for her and her family to navigate, the local police step in to make sure Mrs. Mallard and her ducklings--Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack, and Quack--make it to their new home safely. A beautiful portrayal of one duck family's devotion and perseverance, this picture book is a wonderful representation of how families overcome hard times together and a compassionate reminder to trust in the goodness of humanity., Mrs. Mallard was sure that the pond in the Boston Public Gardens would be a perfect place for her and her eight ducklings to live. The problem was how to get them there through the busy streets of Boston. But with a little help from the Boston police, Mrs. Mallard and Jack, Kack, Lack, Nack, Ouack, Pack, and Quack arive safely at their new home. This brilliantly illustrated, amusingly observed tale of Mallards on the move has won the hearts of generations of readers. Awarded the Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children in 1941, it has since become a favorite of millions.

I recently came across Pop Up Book Finds and all I can say is what an incredible resource to know as I am a collector of Pop-up books for myself and my grandchildren. The extensive inventory of classic as well as exceptionally unique pop up books makes it a site and seller I will continue to do business with. Products are always as advertised, in great condition, timely shipping, well packaged and wonderful customer service to top it all off. As Arnold said famously... "I'll be back."

  • 75th anniversary of this book

This book has stood the tet of time. The art work, all done in brown, although not colorful are beautiful and realistic and add detail to the the story. There is a statue of mother duck and ducklings in the public gardens in Boston. The swan boat still operates on the lake. The story is told from the ducks. perspective.

  • A Charming Book for Children

It is still a charming story after all these years. My two year old granddaughter actually sat in my lap for the entire read.

  • Fun book on ducks. Ducks rule. Much better than chickens.

Gave it as a gift and got several compliments at the bar from people that remembered the book from when they were little. And was a nice story.
