I have had the Imageclass MF8350's for a few years and recently donated them all to a local church since they only did manual duplex printing. The new Imageclass MF8580cdw's are an awesome full function machine. They scan, print, copy and fax. I don't need a fax machine at each desk, but I don't have to worry about any breakdowns throughout the years. These printers-etc. are quiet, fast, color lasers that have expensive replacement cartridges; thus the 4 out of 5 stars, however, if you do what I do; you can mitigate the replacement cartridge expense. I use more black and white than color printing, so I use the Canon name brand toner for the black cartridge and I buy inexpensive replacement cartridges from reputable third party refiller's for the color cartridges. This keeps my consumables expense very low. I like these printers a lot! Dave BronsonRead full review

The price I paid for this makes it an awesome deal. The machine was a breeze to set up. I previously had two ink jet printers, and the last one gave my nothing but trouble, plus it went thru ink likes there was no tomorrow. My wife was the driving force behind me getting this printer, as she got tired of hearing me cussing my printer every time I used it. This is a quality machine with all the features anyone could want, although I'll probably never use half of them. Being a office type laser printer, scanner, fax, copier it is not a "small" unit. However, the HUGE toner cartridges more than makes up for the large footprint. Also, with the quality remanufactured toner cartridges available on ebay, the cost of toner will be very economical. Note, this unit is heavy(68pounds),so have a helper when moving the unit into place. I know there are a lot of machines like this out there and the reviews I read led me to this brand and model. I would recommend this to anyone as long as the size of the unit is not an issue. OH, I almost forgot to mention this thing is FAASSST! JohnRead full review

The Canon MF8580Cdw All-In-One is easy to set-up with Windows 8.1 and it prints general windows Office documents both text, text with color or all color Microsoft Office documents with beautiful color. Full color photos are another matter altogether. The photos come-out very dark and not at all like the screen image in color brilliance. There were no programs included to adjust the printer setting for photos at all except for scanning. I have both Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop which you can adjust the color printer setting for CMYK and it doesn't help much. The photos are still dark and not the screen color at all. Very disappointing for photo printing Great for general office printer.
Not as easy to configure as a home version of this printer, you have to configure it manually each time you want to print or scan a document not many automatic features. I'm kind of used to the printer switching modes automatically but as I said this one doesn't. Okay if you read the manual and learn how to do this yourself.
