This printer appeared to be identical to my current printer that no longer worked. However, that was not the case. This printer connected directly to router with ethernet, my old printer was completely wireless. Since the new printer came with little installation instructions, I was trying to set it up using my old software, which of course did not work. The new model was 510g-m, while my old one was 510n-z. I wasted a lot of time going in circles until I figured that out. Once I realized model number was different, I was able to go to HP's site and download the necessary software to get it properly installed. With all that being said now that I have it running, I have no complaints about its performance. It works great.

It was occurred paper jammed. What was happened paper jam and can't use any more. I ask to repaired shop, but it couldn't. I had throwed away 5 - 6 printer whin 0ne year. Also, Toner was expensived for using long term. I Think about changed mine to replaced with the brother printer. The brother's printer is working good and cheap toners.

I have had a few "name brand" printers, but have literally fallen in love with the HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z. It was easy to unpack, set up, put in the ink and have the "option" to use it either wireless or with a USB cable. It was up and running in less than 20 minutes and is great not only for a home office but also for a small business office. It's a great price for what you get. The only down side of it has been the use of the ink, especially the black ink. It drinks it up like my baby SUV drinks up $4 a gallon gas. My solution is to print on "greyscale" so as not to use up the color ink with ordinary printing and my next purchase will be to order the 901XL black cartridge which can print up to 700 black copies per cartridge. Other than the ink usage, it's easy to use, run, copy, fax, scan & cancel documents. When you have all this, what more do you need in a printer!Read full review
I don't think you can find a new printer like this one, but I wanted it because it was like one I already had for years and had good service from it. I was able to use the same ink that I already had. The ink is not that expensive to buy online and the XL version last quite a while with regular occasional printing. I usually use black, however I try to use the color cartrige sometimes just to keep it from drying out and ready should I need it. This particular printer didn't come with the feed tray as pictured, but I didn't need one as I was able to use my old one from my other printer.

This unit was excellent in all aspects, particularly photo printing. for the first 4 or 5 years. I mean EXCELLENT! Then the scan mechanism failed. I got another used one and it also is great, but 5-6 years old and is very good except it can't feed photo paper. I'd buy a new one but the few left are priced out of my range; at least $150 more than I originally paid.
