These are a quality product built to last from decades ago. I've worked as an electronics technician and instructor for the past fifty years. The only time I've seen one of these fail is because they were abused without proper circuit protection. The windings on these transformers are neatly wound so that the wires run parallel to each other and don't cross over themselves. Each layer is insulated from the one below it. Modern transformers are scramble wound and more likely to fail. I bought a quantity of these to use in labs for my electronics program where forgiveness from time to time is needed.
