    I feel thrilled and lucky to have this

    I'm on a Toshiba Satalite now and love it. I decided to order another as a spair because I'm old and happily car free. I depend on Peapod for groceries and eBay for most everything else. Got it on eBay because of the guarantee. I don't want a touch screen. I don't want one to take apart. OK they both look enticing but pricey and I'm not used to them. I wanted one I'm framiliar with and got it new. I've had computers in my home since Windows 98. Compaq was the worst for dying with no good reason. The files are encripted and it takes a gizmo I don't understand to go back and forth from an HP or Dell to Toshiba. I love the 15.6" screen and know I'll be happy with a 500GB harddrive. I've also got a Toshiba external hard drive working real well.

    Pretty Good PC for the Buck:

    This PC ALMOST did what I needed from it (the graphics are good, the speed is decent (needs more RAM) the HDD size is good (500GB). The only problems are 1) The OEM chipset can't be updated (so you're stuck with regular storage speed..in other words, no IRST)..& 2) no DVD Drive that comes with the PC (you have to purchase one). It's unfortunate that Windows stopped making DVD Drives & stopped providing us with Microsoft Works & WMP. But other than that, the PC does pretty well. (thinking). I just thought of this: to get around the IRST thing you'll have to install a straight-ahead Windows 8.1 (non-OEM). Then, you can do about what you want as far as chipsets. I had fun with this PC, & I highly recommend it to anyone who just want to do the basics (email, webcam/Skype, watch YouTube, FB, ...
