The text is a well-respected standard that is very useful, both for students and for practicing engineers. I would say that the edition is a little outdated since it is based on the AISC 2005 Specification and currently we are two editions beyond that (AISC 360-16). That said, it is still very useful in explaining concepts. Of course, if you need to understand the philosophies and techniques behind the older code, this is very helpful (had to do that this week, in fact).

It is really very good book. It’s price is also affordable. I certainly recommend it.

You stated that all content was the same, but I have found a few differences. Nothing that a quick review over a classmates text didn't clear up.
I ordered a hardcover, but it wasn't. The book has no picture as it shows it on the book I'm rating.Page numbers do not much with the original textbook( same Edition).
Thought I needed it. But it's a good conglomeration of other texts. It references a lot of other material, which I guess is a way of saying 'we expect you to know this stuff'. However, it does a decent job of summaries.
