Product Information

A volcanologist forlorn over the loss of his wife in the Mt. Pinatubo eruption arrives at a small Pacific Northwest town to investigate the rumblings of the local dormant volcano. Though he instantly fears the worse, he must convince the skeptical townspeople and his suspicious superiors who believe he is overreacting in the aftermath of his own tragedy. The beautiful, widowed mayor of the picturesque town believes him, however, and soon they find themselves in a fight for their lives as "Dante's Peak" blows its stack ten miles high, raining ash and fire over everything in its shadow. The Signature Collection Special Edition laserdisc includes added commentary by the director and production designer, a behind-the-scenes documentary, and an isolated score.

    DANTE'S PEAK

    Dante's Peak has been a favorite of mine since it came out. Peirce Brosnan is, as usual, brilliant ! Living near Mt. Rainier and Mt. Saint Helens has made me aware of how unpredictable volcanos can be. the scenes of the volcano finally reaching the point of exploding are so realistic I get the urge to go outside and look towards the east where Mt. Rainier looms. A must watch for those viewers who enjoy disaster flicks.

    Dantes Best Look Yet

    Best of the 90's Volcano themed movies. This HD DVD version has the best picture I've seen to date. Only bad thing is the big flood at the end....the picture is so good, you can tell its just a big miniature! Not as evident in the SD versions of this Movie!

    This is a very good movie

    This movie is exellant it starts out slow and then moves into a very fast action and intense situations and then it explodes and depicts life or death situations . I like the actors and actresses very much and the movie is as close to real life as you can get.
