When I was looking to upgrade from my D5200 DSLR, I considered the Nikon D5600, and purchased it after about two weeks of reading reviews and deliberating why I needed a DSLR in my active camera collection. DSLR's have larger sensors than pocket or Bridge cameras. Out of the box: I purchased the Nikon as part of a kit with the Prime 18-55mm and 70-300 Zoom lenses. The specific kit I purchased also had an SD card, telephoto, and a Macro/wide angle lens. It also came with screw-on UV filters (they protect the lens surface and are smart to have). The Prime lens was smaller than the one on my D5200, and had a 55mm thread instead of the 52mm for the D5200. I ordered separate close-up lenses and some filters in 55mm, to carry in my Tamarack sling bag. One of the best features in the Bluetooth capability on the camera, which allows it to stream photos to my smartphone (the smartphone uploads them to the cloud). And I felt this was essential as I am selling some of my photos, so I did not have to pull out the SD card all the time, and the photos are backed up continuously. The camera is light weight and easy to handle, regardless of which strap I used (I usually use a wrist strap). There is a button on the Prime lens, to unlock it, and that took some getting used to, but not a deal killer. While I use the camera mostly in Auto mode (I know, for a trained photographer that is scandalous), but it performs well in every mode. I have not tested them all yet, but working on it. This camera is a great mid-range DSLR that has all the features of its professional brethren, at a much lower price point. Buying it as a package gets you more value (bag, extra battery, zoom lens, filters, etc.). This camera is excellent for someone moving up to a DSLR for more image control, features, greater lens choices, and larger image size with High Definition (HD) pictures and Video. This is the flagship of my camera collection, as I have a Canon Pocket camera (SX600), and a Nikon B700 Bridge camera. It is good enough to be my everyday shooter, as I don't often change lenses. (but it is easy enough to swap them out quickly). This camera is well suited for family shots, vacations, scenery, eBay items, portraits (with the Prime or a 50mm portrait lens) everyday pictures, and more. If you upload to Google photos, as I do, you get advanced editing features and albums as well. The Nikon D5600 is a great DSLR with a professional feel, WIFI and Bluetooth communication, and a mid-range price. Lots of value for your Photography dollar! The attached pictures are un-retouched photos taken with the D5600 in Markham Virginia, Apple-picking at Stribling Orchard, and at the Chateau O'Brien Winery.Read full review

The camera itself is great and the lens that it comes with is fantastic. But the included bundled items like the tripod and other things are seriously a joke. Spend your money on just the camera and lens don't buy a rip off package like this. Literally nothing but the camera and lenses are usable.

I compared to other brands and found that the Nikon D5600 had the best features for the price. Nice camera and alot of info online for set up and using. Very easy to use both in auto and manual modes.

The Nikon D5600 is an awesome camera! The shop that supplied it is JUST as awesome. They shipped me this camera and lenses from Texas, to PA in two days. That was DURING the pandemic problems! July 6th, and delivered July 8th!!!! After not using a camera since 1991, back when they still had film, this was such an easy transition going to digital. I would recommend this camera to EVERYONE professional or beginner. Plus it comes with factory digital apps for the computer, and the phone. The quality of the pictures is unbelievable! I could snap a picture in a macro setting, and print it at 15" X 25", without having any distortion. If you are starting to get serious about your pictures, and want to get something better then your phone. Then don't hesitate to look here! They will answer your questions and give you a great deal, plus you will be taking professional quality pictures in just days! Dagger DaveRead full review

Teds Electronics was outstanding and I would highly recommend them. The camera was shipped in one day and received 2 days later. The camera is great and it’s easy to learn how to operate. Traded up from. D3300 because of the snap bridge feature which great with my IPAD Pro.
