    A great package.

Picture and sound quality are excellent and the extras are brilliant. The Invaders is one of the best weird/sf series from the '60s with some top acting. Will appeal greatly to Kolchak, The Prisoner or UFO fans I'm sure.

  • The Invaders are a must-see for 1960s drama fans

There are two 1960s TV series' cancellations that devastated me: Star Trek and The Invaders, the latter never shown in reruns. In the 1990s, I bought a few episodes in VHS, but I was disappointed that I never could get the entire series. Now I have the whole series in DVD. The Invaders, a Quinn Martin production (Quinn Martin's most famous production was The Fugitive), is chocked full of guest stars who went on to fame and fortune in Hollywood. Roy Thinnes, like his The Fugitive counterpart David Janssen, was an ideal leading actor, holding the plots together, with subdued technique, allowing both plot and guest stars to shine. If you are a fan of 1960s TV drama, of UFO-ology, of old-school sci-fi (the special effects, while not obtrusive, were ahead of their time), then ...

  • Enjoyable sci-fi

The Invaders is a well-written, story driven (rather than effects driven) episodic sci-fi series that lifts a page from "The Fugitive", following architect David Vincent as he travels from town to town trying to convince a disbelieving world about the presence of aliens on earth. The highlights are the stellar acting of Roy Thiennes as David Vincent and highly effective use of creepy music, camera angles and "aliens who look like us". Like many episodic tv shows of the 1960's and 1970s, the Invaders could have definitely benefitted from some overarching story lines and continunity between episodes -- Vincent is always picking up a new lead and frequently not closing off others, and he is essentially the only continuing character from one episode to another. ...

  • Cold War Paranoia

David Vincent uncovers aliens invading the USA everywhere. What I really see is the US publics mindset about the first and second British invasions of the homeland, the War of Northern Aggression (aka Civil War), fear of German infiltrators in the US during WWI, fear of Japanese spies and Japanese conquest of the homeland in WWII, and the Cold War with the Soviets. Heavy emphasis on the Cold War that was being played out in a smaller scale in Vietnam. Many forget that there was a significant number of Baby Boomers that expected to have it out with the Soviet Union right here in the continental USA. Larry Cohen developed an interesting concept that played well for the late 1960's. A great period piece.

  • it was what the film was about

i got to see the productions of the movies i missed.
