This book is well made even if it's not new the cover and pages preserves themselves well. Even with regular use it stands the test of time. It has many meaningful stories and lesson that capture your imagination and speak to the conscious. Many of the fable's included are well know all over the world like the tortoise and the hair, the wolf in sheep's clothing and others more. It also includes many wonderful illustrations which help you picture the story.
Wonderful illustrations, it's a perfect read for those still small enough to sit on your lap during storytime. My nephew loved the pictures, they're really well done and help paint mental images for him. He's 4 and I feel like he's developing common sense because of these stories and how simple they make big life princples seem through the eyes of cartoon animals. Great buy for the kids!
This is the version I had as a child. Happy to have found a first edition. Beautifully illustrated and worth rereading.

My mom bought this book for me when I was a kid and I loved it. I had my copy stolen along with Autobiography of a Yogi! And I could not remember what it looked like. When I got this, I said,"yes, this is it". This has many of his fables with nice hand drawn pictures too, with the Application(the moral) at the bottom of each story.Really good for children and adults too! by Grosset and Dunlap
The moral lessons in classic children’s literature is valuable and worth your money and time
