I purchased the medium size turquoise & black Flexi leash. I wanted blue and I wanted a strong leash as my 19 pound dog pulls. It’s beautiful to look at but heavy to hold. Its big enough for a man with larger hands but if you r a woman & like a heavier handle then you will like this one. . Someone wrote they felt the medium would be stronger so it finalized my decision. However though the ribbon inside is slightly wider both r the the same great quality & I think for me the small would have been the better option for my size dog. ( I’m an older woman). I thought the ribbon itself was black but it’s turquoise with two light grey stripes still looks great. Many years ago I bought a red comfort Compact 1 Flexi leash for a 32 lb cocker spaniel it is so much lighter with ample room for a gloved hand . In those days small held up to 44 lbs. however the mechanism is a little different, I think this one is better. I gave it 4 stars as sometimes I struggle getting it to retract. It takes a little getting used too. Won’t lie I was surprised how big and heavy this one is I read somewhere someone wrote it was lighter it definitely is not. It’s a very strong leash with a adjustable handle. I’m enclosing a picture of my old small compact leash so you can see the size difference. ( they don’t make the old one any more but I imagine their retractable leash for the smaller dog is not as big or heavy). Hope this helps. It is a great leash just have to get the size best suited fir your hand and dog size. Read full review

Had to replace a retractable leash recently. Tried a cheaper one from a $ store; didn't even begin to work right and took it right back. Tried one with a cord and was OK, but within 2 weeks began to make noises from the spring mechanism; not going to last. Have always had good success with FLEXI ( even though they're more expensive), so purchased a TAPE leash. This is what you want. Action is smooth and strong, and it will last. So in the long run, it's really not more expensive, and you won't have to fight it to make it work.

It's good size grip for adult hands and long enough to let your dog walk freely. Before I purchased this one online, I have a same leash in size XS. When I purchased it at Petco, I thought it was good size for my small pomeranian but truth is I am the one who is going to be holding. The problem of XS was small grip for adults hands and too short as a retractable leash in my opinion. Even you have a small dog, this one is better for the owners and dogs. I believe this is durable enough for big dog as well, unless you have a super large dog. The price was much better than regular pet supply store. Good price, Good quality and Good item.

After going through several different makes of leashes, I am convinced that Flexi leashes are by far the best product. They seem to be durable, are extremely comfortable to use, and very high quality. My only criticism is that the snap-on clasp could be beefier and not as slippery to operate; otherwise, a very superior product!!

A bit oversized for my 15 pound dog; however, afraid a small would be too small for my hand size.
