Works great and appears brand new but...

Although the unit seems fine there was a quality inspection ticket included with the paperwork that indicates the battery was first installed a little over 3 years ago. When I contacted the merchant asking if this was particularly old inventory they just asked if I wanted to return it... it works so I declined but we'll see where we are in a year or so from now.

  • Does the job for light-duty applicances

This is exactly the device you need for simple device power for any sort of power interruption you may have in your home or office. It has a clear beep for when power is lost, telling you exactly how and when to respond to a loss of power. I purchased in in anticipation of electrical work in my house, and wanting to keep the networking services running (Wireless Router, Modem, Lamp, etc.) My only gripe with the device is the lack of ground in its electrical sockets. This means that powering a desktop or another 3-prong appliance off of it will require a potentially unsafe workaround (using a power tap to convert the 3-prong plug to the 2-prong socket), which I personally am willing to do. However, this is a significant drawback for many users who would wish to stay within proper ...

  • Small device UPS that fits my need

This is a small unit that provides uninterruptible power to only small low power items, like a small Ethernet switch, an Analog Telephone Adapter and a cordless phone base as I am. this way if the power goes out I am fine for a few hours without power. It is possibly a little larger physically than I expected, but fits well in the area I have for it. I have been needing one of these for years. If you have three prong cords, you likely need a different UPS than this one. The outlets are only two prong to accommodate "Wall Wart" type power supplies like my devices have. This would not have the capacity to handle large devices or computers. You would want to buy one that is rated for that use if you have that need, not this one. This is the right unit for my needs. I was not paid or ...

  • Perfect Little Backup

I actually use this for my alarm clock. I have an APC surge protector which I plug this into, and then plug my alarm clock into it. When the power goes out for 30 seconds I don't have to reset my clock every time, which was annoying me cause power cycles off here a lot. I love my clock, but no battery backup, so this was ideal. Also gives me some extended juice to run/charge laptop during extended power outage (besides just battery power). Well made, battery large enough to do the job but have no illusions about running anything high powered, good ergo and aesthetics, decent sized (I have it atop my desk and it is large but not absurdly so), green light shines from switch and grill and always visible which I don't mind but be aware of using in room, I like how much it shines because in dim ...

  • Instills Confidence

Since the new Verizon FiOS ONT (Optical Network Terminal) comes with no battery backup (not even for phone service), I have one backing it up and one backing up the wireless router. My desktop computer uninterruptible power supply (UPS) doesn't help keep internet service up during power failures because the ONT is located elsewhere in the house and that UPS can only keep the wireless router running for a few minutes until it does a soft shut down to protect the desktop computer. This arrangement will keep the ONT and wireless router from shutting down during short blackouts and keep them both running during longer blackouts so that mobile devices can continue their access to the internet. Since I got a good price ($16.99 each), I decided to buy a third one as a spare.
