    DVDR3320

    Firstly there is no such thing as a perfect DVD recorder. They seem to vary between absolutely appalling and good(ish). Using Philips disks there is no problem with 19 out of 20 recordings. On occasion it has difficulty reading its own disks but the information is not lost and can be retrieved with another player. Dubbing between DVD and VCR is good. Perhaps the most important thing is its compatability with older and newer Philips DVD recorders. By this I mean you can get a half full disk from a different recorder, unlock it, and carry on recording on the 3320. This does not apply to many others. Reliability has also improved, the older recorders used to last around 3 months, whether you switched them on or not. Philips have increased the life of their DVDRs but they still have a limited ...

    All-Round Excellent & Versatile DVD/VCR Player/Recorder

    The unit I bought is factory-refurbished, but seems to work perfectly and, apart from a couple of superficial cosmetic scratches and marks, is as good as a new unit. Just in case, though, it even comes with a 3-month RTB warranty, which is reassuring. It can play every audio/video format under the sun and, despite getting heavy use (hours every day) and being handled by small children, it is robust and the build quality resists damage through minor knocks and bumps. I am especially pleased that the unit will play DIVX, since this is rare and is very useful for playing files created on a PC. I would certainly buy this machine again, especially at the price -- at &80, even if it fails (which I don't anticipate it will do, any time soon), replacement isn't a scary idea!     the philips dvdr 3320 dvd recorder vcr combo it is great especially if you want to convert old vhs tapes to dvd and its as easy as pushing a button i purchased it as i needed a dvd recorder combo and this had everything i needed

    Really disappointing

    Having problems with it. It wont play vhs tapes clearly in fact can't see at all, just keeps flittering. Tried tracking, no help. Those same tapes play superbly on my old VCR. And then the screen freezes and even when I change DVD or VHS tapes I get audio but the picture is still the frozen screen. I can only then get to correct itself by turning it from the mains for a few minutes. I am not happy at all.

    A very useful unit!

    If you have lots of old VCR tapes that you may want to watch sometime, but have gone over to DVD's, this unit saves space by combining a DV player and VCR in one unit. Remote controls are available if yours was lost! Just Google for suppliers. Excellent picture quality on DVD, with twin Scart plus a full set of alternative connecters. A most useful space saver!
