Glory Road Glory Road is another great Basketball film. I'm a sucker for these true story sports films, and Glory Road doesn't dissapointed. The cast is great, the acting and intensity is superb, and when they show clips of the actual game during the credits you really appreciate the effort the Cast and Crew put into making the Basketball scenes as realistic as possible. Glory Road is great from the get go, it's funny, heartwarming, and inspiring. Josh Lucas is awesome as CoachHaskins and Jon Voight is great as Coach Adolph Rupp. Derek Luke is just a good in this film as Bobby Joe Hill as he was in Friday Night Lights as Booby Miles. When you see the team photo at the end of the movie you realize how much work was put into finding the right actors to play the roles. Final ... This is an excellant Movie. It will keep your attention thru out the complete movie. With one heck of an ending. Glory Road is based on a true story. The story line of the movie is back when basketball were all white players, and one coach recruited several black players. The coach was a former HIgh School girls Basketball coach, that took on a job in El Paso, Coaching a low funded team, with no winnings. He had no funds to recruit, all he had to offer was playing the game and a scholarship. The coach takes a nobody College Basketball team and makes History with it. All the while he, and his players being ridiculed and shunned by the other coaches, the basketball fans and their own school's top funding source.
