3kV, 6mA power supply adjustable to a fraction of a volt
The 6110A is a bit of an odd beast -- a 3kV, 6mA power supply designed to precisely replicate a voltage entered on thumbwheel digit counters. Not sure exactly the original purpose, but it's a great DC high-voltage reference for calibrating multimeters, etc. Just throw a precision voltmeter on it and tweak with the final thumbwheel, which is a pot for the fractional volts. The output is a floating voltage through a pair of MHV connectors ... on my particular unit, someone replaced these with SHV connectors. The output filter capacitor is only 1uF, but this is still enough to deliver a dangerous jolt at higher voltages. Like most old HP equipment, this thing is built like a battleship.
