This high-quality Zeikos UV Filter blocks the invisible UV component of light from the sky which can cause blur and to which many color films react with a blue cast. UV Filters are ideal for photography in high altitudes (in the mountains) by the sea and in regions with very clean air. The pictures gain brilliance and disturbing blue casts are avoided. Because the glass is colorless color rendition is not altered aside from the elimination of the unwanted blue cast and no increase in exposure is required. The colorless glass also makes a UV Filter very suitable as protection for the front element of your lens against dust flying sand sea water spray and the like and it can be kept on the lens at all times. It is recommended for color and black & white film as well as digital photography.

Good value, well made
This is the lowest price, multicoated UV filter made by a known brand that I could find. It is well made and worth the $3.99 delivered price. I compared it with an expensive Hoya Pro Digital MC protector by placing the two filters on an oak table that has beautiful, high contrast grain. The Hoya looked like there was no glass there. The Zeikos showed some reflection. I then did the test with a $2.99 MC UV filter by an unknown Chinese manufacturer. It too had some reflections and the Zeikos may have been very slightly superior. I then took the 3 filters and held them at different angles to my eye to see when reflections appeared. All three filters did well with the Hoya MC again being superior, but the difference was not as great as in the previous test. In summary, the Zeikos is a ... Best UV filter you will find! Great product!
I bought this filter because I needed a protective layer for my expensive non-replaceable camera lens. This filter fits perfectly on my adapter ring for my camera lens and allows other filters and conversion lenses to be screwed on with no picture distortion. It is very effective at reducing lens glare. The outer ring is a sturdy metal (aluminum I think) and the entire filter has a very sturdy construction. As far as UV filters go, this is the best one you can find.I bought this filter because I needed a protective layer for my expensive non-replaceable camera lens. After performing some painstaking A-B tests of the Zeikos & Massa filters to more expensive brands, I have come to the conclusion the Zeikos & Massa filters are at least as good as the more expensive filters, and dramatically better than Tiffen filters. So, these are what I buy. The Zeikos & Massa UV filters exhibit absolutely no image quality degradation even when testing with a macro prime lens focused on newsprint. With or without the filter, the shots are identical.After performing some painstaking A-B tests of the Zeikos & Massa filters to more expensive brands, I have come to the conclusion the Zeikos & Massa filters are at least as good as the more expensive filters, and dramatically better than Tiffen filters. save some money on these and dont pay 10-40 dollars on brand names
these actually are really good. the brand on these lenses doesnt really matter, since it doesnt affect the pictures very much. but you can see the difference when shooting in bright light, but still you cant tell the difference between a brand name or non brand name
