The Pawnbroker
I saw this film in the late 60's. My mother was always fascinated by it. She's the one who sparked my interest in films and I've been hooked ever since. Okay, about the movie. Solid performances by all. May not be for everyone with the paces expected by today's audiences. Rod Steiger is incredible. Plot totally believable. Excellent screenplay and score. You'll have to watch for yourself for the story. This story could only be told in black and white. The flashback sequences could only hold up in black and white. Hope this helps.
