About this product

Product Information

Before Ryu, Lara, and Altaïr, there was the Prince. The acrobatic, wall climbing, trap-dodging, sword-swinging hero returns for another installment in the iconic Prince of Persia series, the first on Xbox 360. Crafted with an enhanced graphics engine that powered Assassin's Creed, the game emphasizes swift, agile movement across horizontal and vertical space in both indoor and outdoor settings. Prince of Persia also introduces a distinctive visual style. Characters and backgrounds are designed to resemble a vivid painting, one brought to life with striking animation.

The storyline for this installment is a departure from previous titles. The Prince has sold his soul to a dark god named Ahriman for a chance to hone his hunting skills against the world's most vile beasts. He was tricked, however, and was turned into a beast himself, forced to prey on the daring men who tried in vain to slay him. The Prince begins a path to redemption by working for the dark god's brother, Ormazd, the god of light. His goal is to restore balance to the world by stamping out Ahriman's corruptive influence. To ensure The Prince fulfills his task, a mysterious female named Elika agrees to fight the insidious evil alongside him. The two can perform special attacks together, solve puzzles, and assist one another in exploring the world.

While the acrobatic action is reminiscent of earlier installments, the world is more open-ended in this game, allowing for greater choice while progressing through ancient Persia. Combat is now solely focused on one-on-one duels with enemies instead of group battles. The Prince wields a scimitar in one hand and a clawed gauntlet in the other. One-button controls let you seamlessly create combos by alternating sword attacks, jumps, and gauntlet grabs. The gauntlet can be used in a variety of ways, such as allowing the Prince to slow his fall by latching it onto surfaces. Though Prince of Persia is a single-player game, online users can download additional content to continue their exotic adventures.

The "Limited Edition" comes in collectible packaging and includes a "making of" video, a digital mini-strategy guide, a digital art book, and the original soundtrack from Prince of Persia.

  • Roller Coaster on Canvas

When you put this game in your console, dont expect a challenge, expect more of an experiance you'll never forget. From the breathe taking backgrounds to the witful conversations you have with Elika, this game has opened a new door to platfrom games. the detail of the characters areamazing from the princes sweet gauntlet to elikas ankle bracelet, they left nothing out. when you get a feel for how automatic the prince is, you feel like you on a roller coaster on the loose. going up and down, running on walls, ceilings, and poles. Elika is pretty much your monkey girlfriend with super powers. as you go through the game you collected light seeds for her to get new powers that activate plates for her to use. one flings you across the level to another plate and another makes you fly as you hold ...

  • Disappointing Sequel

I have been a big fan of the Prince of Persia series ever since the Gamecube game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and have loved that game and the two sequels Warrior Within and Two Thrones. I had hoped that this game would at least live up to a modest set of expectations since it was now on an XBox 360 and not on a Gamecube, assuming a few control schemes and gameplay thematics being a little different. Sad to say, it did not live up to my expectations. The combat system has been dumbed down and not quite as fluid as when the new combo engine was introduced in Warrior Within. The traditional moves that the Prince can perform like the wall run and such have a sluggish and stubborn feel to them that causes gamers who have hair-trigger responses that were needed in previous Prince of Persia ...

  • Pretty good game up until the ending

I bought this game because it looked pretty interesting. I read that there were other Prince of Persia games in the past but when I saw this come out with the commercials and all, I just had to play it. Happens to be a year and some months later though. It's a long game so I'll give it credit for that. The worlds are real interesting looking and full of color, even when corrupted. Finding the light seeds aren't hard, just hard to get to a few of them. The one thing I didn't expect from this game was the ending. It was upsetting to me in a way but kind of impressing how it was done with the credits rolling while still playing. I liked the game and because there's an Epilogue for an extra 800 Microsoft points, you'll be able to play the game for a few more hours longer, having a possibly ...

  • Overall really good

The developers really did a good job overall, but the best part has to be the graphics of the game, they are really good and combined with the scenery, it truly has enough to becomes one of my top 10 games of this decade (Maybe 20's). The character's moves and maneuvers can be a bit challenging, but with a bit of practice a gamer can easily master them. My only concern with the game is that in my opinion it was way to big in it’s built up and extensive which can be boring for some gamers(I know it was for me at some point), that don't have that much time to play.
