  • Great mobo, needs more info in the manual tho

The ep2c602 is a great, gigantic board with many useful features such as loads of pci e slots and many sata ports. Couple of things I wish they documented on the manual was: Ram placement. When you don't put the rams in specific placements, the board doesn't POST. Other than that, installation was straight forward. Beware for beginner builders like me tho, the board is really big so it covers most cable management gromits. You have to carefully consider where cables go if you want a clean cable management. My PSU cords were not long enough when routed a specific way.

  • Works with my 2x E5-2650 8 core Intel CPU

I bought this to put my two inexpensive 8 core Intel E5 (2650) CPUs in. Works like a champ. The reason for building this system was the processors so I am happy this Motherboard accepted them and the RAM without any issues. I'm using DDR3 ECC RAM as well. I added water cooling with Corsair H60 I found on Amazon at a discount (60.00 each) and the all up for my 16 core (32 Thread) desktop is 1k.

  • Fast and stable!

Everything is working so far. Running 2 x E5-2680v2's and waiting on some ECC RAM. A previous build with this same mobo, I was able to OC 1600 RAM to 1866 on all 8 slots. The storage ports are hard to understand. There are 4 SAS ports that can operate as SATA but I can't get it to run in SATA3. However, Intel recognizes it and I'm able to setup a RST RAID array. There's 4 Marvell SATA ports that are a tad slower but great from HW RAID. Then there's 4xSATA2 ports that are wasting space on the board and 2 normal intel SATA 3 ports. I suggest plugging your array around each controller and find the best speed for your setup.

  • Good board, mediocre support

I purchased this board to build a new server running Windows Server 2016. The problem is that the driver set provided by ASRock is quite old and when completely installed caused a crash with the server software. I finally got all the on board devices, it took a lot of fiddling to get it working and was far from what I expect. I feel that ASRock should support this board with news drivers for Windows Server 2016 as this chip set and Xeon processors provide excellent performance for the money making it possible to have a very capable server at a low price.

  • Great Board

I got this board to create a low-cost logical 32 core server using Xeon E5 2670s. This board uses the DDR3 RAM which is quite a bit cheaper than the newer revs which take DDR4. No problems with the board at all, works great.
