Just what I needed. Could not ask for a better price.
These monitors work perfect. I purchased two. They were just as described. There are a couple of imperfections on one of the screens, but it does not hender me from doing what I set out to do each day. I work for home one day a week and needed my home office designed like my office at work and this did just that. Literally took 3 min to link them with the docking station. Very pleased.

Great little monitor if you can get it for less than $60
Great monitor. Not high def, but an excellent choice for regular computer monitor. I am using for a multi monitor set up. Does not take up too much space and allows for easy multi tasking. The refresh rate, and overall resolution is very good. You can watch some video on it, but you are not going to get the picture quality as if you would on an HD monitor. It is diagnal screen but not wide screen. I would recommend this monitor to anyone who is looking for a reliable pc monitor. I have owned Dell products throughout the years, and have always gotten my money's worth. They produce good products. Even purchasing used products on sites such as eBay, you can still call Dell and get tech support from them on products as if you bought it from them directly. The reason I rate it only at 4/5 ... I am very happy with mine, and look foward to buying a couple of more, so long as I get a good deal. I would say these are worth about $55-$65. I could not see spening that much more on a used 17" monitor. Condsidering they are $100-$110 brand new for this size.

Dell E17_FP LCD Monitor: An Excellent Choice
I have purchased two Dell monitors on eBay - The first was an E176FP LCD, and the second was the E177FP LCD. I take it the two monitors are just different versions of the same, as they are nearly identical to each other (the only difference is that the E177 is black, while the E176 is just a little grayer (maybe because it is older)). I use both monitors on the same computer (a two-monitor setup). The image on screen is excellent - very sharp, the colors are vivid, and no dead pixels. The controls for adjusting the monitor are easily visible (silver push buttons set on the front of the casing, below the screen), and easy to access, although you can get confused trying to maneuver through the setting options. There are no speakers attached to the monitor. You only need a regular computer-style power cord - no transformer or power adaptor is needed. The monitor is connected to your computer via standard SVGA connector. The stand that comes with the LCD panel is appropriately heavy, and manages to make a minimal footprint on your desk. As a matter of fact, it is almost as if the stand takes up no more space than the panel itself. The stand snaps onto the back of the monitor, and does so with a solid, very audible and confidence-building "SNAP." No screws are needed, and the result is a flat, neat,clean back. The metal post that raises the monitor above the desk allows for limited swivelling up and down. Side-to-side swivel involves moving the whole stand. There is also a hole in the support through which you can place your power cord and SVGA cable - again, keeping everything neat. Plug-ins are set behind/under the stand's locking mechanism, and face downwards, so (again), everything is neat. I think this is what impresses me the most about the monitors: they are neat, unobjectionable, plain. They look like what they are: pieces of a business machine that let you focus exclusively on what is on the screen. After all - that's what they're there for. They are unobtrusive. Performance-wise, they seem to be completely trouble-free. The older E176 has been running for nearly 2 years without a problem. I have had the 177 for less than six months, but given the similarities between the two, I expect the same kind of reliability. (I use them daily, for 10 - 16 hours per day, and do not usually let them go blank when I'm away from the desk.) I specifically sought out the E177 because the E176 is such an excellent monitor. Dell has done an excellent job on these - very neat, straight-forward, high-performance monitors. You get your money's worth here. Both monitors were bought new through eBay, and for nearly the same price.

Monitor has good color and clarity. Easy to use and hook up. These monitors are economically priced however the mount is not adjustable vertically. I also planned to use a DELL attached sound bar which does attach easily however this monitor does not have a power plug to power the soundbar If you want a nice monitor with no frills then it is ok as an entry level monitor. If you want a sound bar, usb ports, etc the upgrade to the UltraSharp line.Monitor has good color and clarity. Easy to use and hook up. The Dell E177FP LCD monitor has great image quality, fast refresh-rate, and a variety of mounting options. Colors seem to be more vibrant with higher contrast than my previous monitor. The blacks seem 'blacker' and the viewing angle seems wider. I don't watch many movies but after testing it on a few DVDs, i found the E177 to have much better picture quality than the 15-inch flat panel that it replaced. The screen goes almost all the way to the edge, so it doesn't take up more room than my old E15, but it is substantially heavier. One word of caution: the stock display stand seems a bit wobbly with the weight of the E17, but alternate stands are readily available. Overall, the Dell E177FP is a great monitor to consider, either new or used (mine was used). Given Dell's quality and ...
