    Not bad, works as desribed...but...

It has been my experience that the Aquabot Mamba works well as described with the following caveats. It will get stuck if it encounters any obstructions (steps) and you will have to redirect it and check on it periodically. It comes with 32' of hose, which may be fine with a smaller pool. I have a 27' round, above ground, and it simply was not enough. You must account for the length lost going to the unit underwater and a couple of feet to connect to your skimmer. I purchased and added an extra 12' of hose to have more than enough to reach the entire pool. It must have extra hose to run freely all over the pool. It takes a few hours to clean my pool to an acceptable level, but you will still have to do "touch-up" cleaning if you want it close to perfect. Overall, for the price ...

Probably good for above ground round pools only

I have a small stucco kidney shaped pool, 4.5 feet deep at deepest. Initially didnt work hardly at all until I read the directions online. The length of hose according to your pool length is critical as well as the adjustable flotation ring for the hose and the adjustment for the suction pressure as well. Once I played with those adjustments for awhile it finally worked ok. It's big negative for me is it keeps hanging up on the stairs which is a common problem with most inexpensive pool cleaners. It also favored one side of the pool so between the stairs and it's staying on one side i have to check on it and pull it away from where its stuck every 10 minutes or so, kind of defeats the purpose of an "automatic" pool cleaner. What it does get to, it cleaned very well!

  • Good item; great value!

There are a lot of automatic pool cleaners out there-- some upwards of $1000. If you can pick up one of these "Mambas" for around $100 (which is what they're going for at the time of this review), I would say to go for it. They are easy to assemble and get set up and running (less than 15 minutes out of the box). I wouldn't say they're "great" (4/5 stars), but easily "very good". At this price point, they are definitely a great value. After connecting it to your skimmer, it randomly hops around the bottom as well as up the sides of your pool. After about an hour in my (24' round above ground) pool, it was 90% clean. It removed small debris and grass, as well as a thin layer of green algae that coverd the bottom. The only issue I had the first time I used it was that it got hung up on my ...

  • Nice item for the price

the price is right--sometimes it gets stuck but I just keep an eye on it (beats hand-vacuuming)--easy assembly-suction works great so far but twigs and nuts will stop it and that's why you should watch it or swim with it going-the key is to get good suction and it climbs the walls well.

  • Aquabot Mamba Pool Cleaner

This works great but the assembly instructions are the worst I've ever seen. It shows "part #7" and what it looks like but that piece is actually assembled into place at the factory so you won't find it in the box anywhere. "Part #10" is shown and is in the box but nowhere on the instructions does it show where it should go. Once we got it together, it worked great though.
