Tamagotchi is the Game Boy version of the popular hand-held children's toy that caused quite a stir in Japan, and made only minor waves in the United States. <br><br>A Tamagotchi is a small alien creature that hatches from an egg. Once it is "born," it is up to you to raise it properly by feeding it, cleaning it and playing games with it. Depending on how you raise the Tamagotchi, it will grow into one of several different species. <br><br>The Game Boy version expands on the options of the toy by adding more of everything: more food, more games and more detailed graphics. However, since it is unlikely that people would keep their Game Boys on constantly (the original hand-held Tamagotchi units stay on 24-hours a day like a clock), other changes have also been made. You can save your Tamagotchis using battery-backed memory and raise up to three at once.

Very fun, but not the same as the Virtual Pets
While not the same experience as the virtual pets you'd typically see, this is still a fun Tamagotchi experience with its own unique features! And it includes both P1 and P2 Tamas!

fun Game. love it a lot!
I think that it is a very fun game, but takes a while to learn without instructions, although I did it without instructions. It has around 10-15 characters, and each character grows a year older every 5-15 minutes. only downside is that when you turn your game boy on and start playing, you need to play with it and constantly look at its health until you save and turn off your gameboy. Also, I was taking perfect care and all happy and all of the sudden it just died, and when i pressed a button it showed my tamagotchi in like a block and i had to restart. But overall, this is a really fun game if you have played a tamagotchi before.I think that it is a very fun game, but takes a while to learn without instructions, although I did it without instructions. Great game for a great price
This game is fairly cheap, anywhere you can find it. I mean, it's good that it's cheap because this is really the original little virtual pet, Tamagotchi, on a Gameboy game. If you missed playing with tamagotchis or just collect them, then this game is perfect. If you remember playing with tamagotchis as a kid and don't want to spend $20+ bucks on an actual tamagotchi, then get this game. What fun !
I really liked this game; it's fun, it's simple, and worth hours of play, at least for me that is. The graphics are archaic, but still very adorable. The animation is very cute. There's more to do in this game than in handheld versions, more games to play and contests to enter your pet in and stuff. An other improvement is that you can raise three at once. The music is really fun too, but the sound effects are horrible.
