As with all Havalon knives...
This knife has the rubbery grip that keeps you from losing your grip while handling this knife and as with all Havalon knives uses the surgical blades-the sharpest blades. The 60A blades are the thicker blades and so I would recommend these versus the other 60XT blades. Never sharpen blades again. When it gets dull just replace and get right back to work. Doesn't go dull quickly unless you strike bone. Highly recommended! A great replacement blade knife at a great price that will spoil you on scalpel knives!
I love this knife. It helps to buy the #60 blades in bulk rather than using Havalon replacement blades (you can get a hundred blades for around $21). It is VERY sharp, all the time. Keeping the edges replaced and new guarantees a razor-sharp knife for every task. The knife is not good for things like carving, prying, stabbing, etc. because of the thinness and flexibility of the replacement blades. If you're looking for a dagger or a survival knife, this isn't it. But if you are looking for a knife that is awesomely sharp, all the time for *most* tasks, I would highly recommend this knife. By-the-way - I own three of these replacement blade knives from three different manufacturers and this is my second favorite. But opinions vary. I love the Wiebe due to it's classy, wooden-handled look ... I love this knife. It helps to buy the #60 blades in bulk rather than using Havalon replacement blades (you can get a hundred blades for around $21). It is VERY sharp, all the time. Great skinning knife!
Very sharp, like using a scalpel to skin game. Replaceable blades mean the knife will always be this sharp. The no-slip, easy-grip construction of the handle on this particular knife is another great advantage.--With a blade this sharp, you don't want the knife slipping through your fingers. I like this knife so much, that I am buying another for my hunting partner.
