    Danny Elfman-Music for a Darkened theatre

    This c.d is absolute perfection from a composer who's style and feel are almost unmatched. This former Oingo Boingo main man moved on to score films and television shows in the mid 80's.You'll recognize t.v faves "Tales from the Crypt" from the HBO series and the theme from the longest running sitcom on television "The Simpsons".As he moved from film to film(usually with Director Tim Burton) he developed a lush style as whimsical as it was haunting sometimes.Most of his finest work is included on this disk..hence making it a "best-of" of sorts.Sit back and enjoy..you'll loose yourself in the fantasy that so many of his scored films embrace.

    A fantastically whimsical collection!

    Grabbing up this item will be a certain joy. If you have just discovered Elfman's film compositions, it is a wonderful sampling of his work (and you will find yourself going "Wow! I didn't know he did THAT!" - you will soon be inspired to more purchases of full length film scores (for more fun, see also: early 80's Oingo Boingo). Long time fans, it is a fine "Greatest Hits, Volume 1" collection. Items include tracks from -- Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Batman, Dick Tracy, Beetlejuice, and The Simpsons.

    Trapped in the Breakfast Machine...

    I don't recognize some of the tracks since I didn't see those movies, but the ones I know and hold dear are awesome. He is my favorite movie composer and I find his works beautifully composed and the haunting melodies are worthy of being stuck in your head all day. The highs and lows of each song tug at your heartstrings as well as put you in a darkened theater.

    When Elfman composes music for a film you hear it and recognize it is him as you watch the film (not as an afterthough or "I didn't know that Dannny Elfman". I love his music, and this CD is the perfect mix. Love it!,Love it!,Love it!.
