About this product

Product Information

Although he faces responsibility bravely, thirteen-year-old Matt is more than a little apprehensive when his father leaves him alone to guard their new cabin in the wilderness. When a renegade white stranger steals his gun, Matt realizes he has no way to shoot game or to protect himself. When Matt meets Attean, a boy in the Beaver clan, he begins to better understand their way of life and their growing problem in adapting to the white man and the changing frontier. Elizabeth George Speare's Newbery Honor-winning survival story is filled with wonderful detail about living in the wilderness and the relationships that formed between settlers and natives in the 1700s. Now with an introduction by Joseph Bruchac.

Items arrived on time, but was packaged in a flimsy mailer - not secure. 2 items also arrived with damage not listed in the seller description, so they were not in the "brand new" or "perfect" condition listed. Would caution others when buying from this seller.

Bad experience with the seller: no real communication from the seller. *However*, this book at least arrived --- unlike 1 (of the 3) I ordered in this bundled order. This book was part of a combined order of 3 books from this seller with the *same* tracking number listed for all three books. The book did arrive quickly and in great condition despite being packaged (spines out) in a thin paper-type mailer with some of the individual pages interlocking with the other book that arrived with it.

Book just as described and delivered on time. An excellent purchase experience. I’d recommend this seller to anyone.
