Bale would've knocked this out of the park if his role was more involved. The director failed to use his acting talent to really make a great performance. Bale looked bored and rushed. It's like he wanted to get this over with. The Pharaoh actor was ok. The effects were very good. God was super annoying. (you'll see what I mean) Moses is shown as a brilliant military strategist, where he's shown in actual battle. Ten Commandments lacked that. Good movie, give it a shot.

Not impressed with the film, the characters were those that usually play action roles or drama not biblical type roles therefore they were not good matches for their roles nor did the story line live up to the basic teachings of the Exodus as we all know and have been taught over time The film The Ten Commandments lived up to the biblical story line much more than this one, would not recommend anyone purchase this film, my copy is headed for the do not watch again pile.

This looked interesting. We were hesitant after the bizarre NOAH movie that came out just a few months before this, but decided to go ahead. There are a VERY FEW neat special effects interspersed between a very dry telling of a very old story. But in this version the story is full of holes, big gaping holes. There seems to be no religious reference to the cause of the plagues or to the warnings received before they occurred so it makes it much more like a bunch of random events that wore the Pharaoh down. The whole scene where the water comes crashing back to kill the armies of the Pharaoh is quite bizarre as both Moses and the Pharaoh are caught in it and although all the armies of the king and the horses are killed both Moses and the Pharaoh survive. Stupid....There is no mention of how all these people survive as they wander through the wilderness or of any of the trials that await them. Then it just ends... poof ...like in the middle of a sentence in the middle of a conversation that is interrupted. It certainly is not worth watching twice. The blu-ray disk itself is an excellent example of a blu-ray disk and the jewel case is like they all are. Can't fault the product for the content.Read full review
I was so disappointed in this movie. So many fabricated parts. I don't recall God presenting himself to Moses as an angry disrespectful child. Or Moses parting the Red Sea with a sword. Moses is portrayed as a man seeing things and hearing voices. Very disappointed. I will not even donate this movie for someone else to see this trash. It will be destroyed.

The story became slow after the first 30 minutes, and the depiction of God by an angry child didn't fit well with the theme.
