LOVED the first two issues! What a great legendary team to fight the forces of evil with: War hero and president, Theodore Roosevelt, first ever black Boxing champion and legend, Jack Johnson, a young Harry Houdini, iconic western hero Annie Oakley, and scientific genius and legend Thomas Edison! This should have been WAY more epic with more adventure and fights, with less of a history lesson, with WAY less talking and they should have done way more with Houdini, the greatest magician ever. Here he only just throws playing cards. (Groan.) And Thomas Edison should've had a bunch inventions and gadgets to help the team, but he's horribly underused here. And Theodore Roosevelt in his steam punk Wanna-Be Iron Man armor was laughably bad. But I did LOVE the ending where we find out the team was just the U.S.A billionaire robber barons' clean-up team and Teddy Roosevelt's response to that. LOL. With a lot of fine-tuning, this could've been a great summer blockbuster movie or a cool Netflix show.Read full review
