Turn mopping hassle into mopping fun
This is a wonderful product. I would have bought a Swiffer wet jet earlier, but I don't use any products with toxic chemical substances in my house, and I'm sure the Swiffer solutions are full of them (though they hide the ingredients from purchasers). But I found videos on YouTube that showed how to open the cap of the Swiffer product bottle so the toxic product can be dumped out and the bottle filled with one's own solution. I did that (it wasn't easy) and filled the bottle with a non-toxic solution of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. Not only, but it's not necessary to buy expensive Swiffer wet-mop pads. See YouTube for cheap, washable products that work better. With my non-toxic cleaning solution, the Swiffer wet-jet is a game changer! I've always hated mopping because of ... Not nearly as good as a sponge mop but then again you don't have to fill up a bucket with soapy water, squeeze out the sponge mop several times and then empty it in the toilet being careful not to make a mess. The instruction that you need to change the pad after each use is a misdirection that tries to get you to buy more pads than necessary. If you store the device in a plastic bag, it doesn't dry out and you can get perhaps 3 applications. Also, it is possible that replacing the cleaning solution with water and detergent might avoid having to replace the proprietary detergent--will have to try after using up current bottle.It is sort of half-assed. Does a great job
This product does a great job but the paper pads get too dirty to quickly so to really clean your floor you need to go through two or three of them. So instead I just buy cloth mopheads at the dollar store, they fit the swiffer and last a lot longer then the paper pads.
