    Cool nostalgic camera

I had purchased this as a collectible more than a camera that I would use. It's a classic Sony that records to a mini CDR/RW rather than a flash card. Most people have never seen one, or knew that there was such a thing. It's classic Sony quality and it works well, but it is very slow to react since it has to read to the disc and it take a few seconds for it to process a new pic or to review one already taken. Nicely styled, but bulky design. The display is OK, but not like a newer camera, but better than the older floppy disc Mavica. Lens is also better than the older Mavica. Pretty good sharp pics for only being a 3.3 MP. If you buy one, I would recommend getting one with the instruction booklet, or download one, because there are things you need to know about the discs and how to ...

  • Mavica CD300 Review

This is an amazing camera to say the least. I have the original receipt from circuit city for $999.99 on 15-June-2001 and it was worth every penny. You can save off all of your pictures to the CD's you use to shoot the pictures so you don't have to fumble with those expensive memory cards that always get lost. You burn the CD while you are taking pictures (well the camera automatically does that for you) and you have a great media to hold all your photos. I just label mine and have years of collections. One other thing that I love about the CD's is that you can mail one to anybody you with to share pics with and they can just place it in the CD drive of their computer. You don't have to worry about them having the right memory card slot reader. One other useful feature of ...

  • Sony Mavica MVC 3.3 Megapixel Digital Camera

What a great piece of technology! If you care for it properly, it will care for you. I use a Mac format at home and a PC and work and it functions seamlessly between formats with a little practice. Look at my web site at www.myspace.com/lexingtonareachamber and see the photos I've taken around town with this beauty. I've had Chamber of Commerce members come to me asking if I would set up their website and take photos for them because they have been so impressed with the quality of the pictures. I've worked in bright sunlight, low light and the dark and it just doesn't get any better than this. I had to purchase the mini CD's on ebay because they were unavailable at WalMart or even the local Radio Shack, but it was worth the trouble for the results you get. If you're an average ...

  • SONY CAMERA

As a one hour photo lab specialist, we tried several different digital cameras, and also developed the film from each, and I can say that the Sony Mavica CD made the clearest and most professional looking pictures we developed. The sony has more features that most digital cameras, as it works in Tintype, black white, and solarize, to name a few. You can also cut your pictures right on the camera, and save them in the new size. Being able to write your pictures to a mini cd/r/w, allows you to cut down on memory, but also lets you take out the cd, catalogue it, and store your pics this way. Being able to place a mini cd right into your computer to see your pics, is a added plus.

  • I Love My Mavica CD300

I love the ease and functionality of the Mavica CD300. I love the fact that I don't have to download software in order to view the pictures I've taken. The camera takes quality pictures. I can either zoom in or zoom out and the picture quality remains the same. The viewing screen is large enough to effectively see what you are shooting and viewing. The only thing I had a problem with was the sun. In bright sunlight, the screen becomes virtually useless but ... I was able to find and purchase an attachable viewing device which allows you to use the camera in bright sunlight. The device is called a Viewfinder (DVAC MVc). Because the Mavica camera is no longer made, it is difficult, but not impossible, to locate the Viewfinder. I also love the fact that I can shoot pictures and ...
