About this product

Product Information

Based on Masamune Shirow's acclaimed manga, APPLESEED is a haunting and thrilling vision of an apocalyptic future in which human life is slowly being controlled by a new breed of Biodroids, creatures that are half android, half man. In this future, the remnants of the world's governments create a city named Olympus near the Canary Islands designed to be a utopia. However, this utopia is controlled by the Biodroids, and soon the human population have had enough. Rallying together a band of terrorists, the humans decide that they must destroy Gaia, the computer that runs Olympus, thereby freeing themselves and delivering a fatal blow to the reeling superpowers.

  • Great action story with really good animation.

Appleseed is an interesting science fantasy set in a future where world war has brought civilization to the brink of extinction. A new utopian city state has been formed and is being threatened from within. A great action story with very good animation. A real treat for those who like Japanese Anime.

  • The First CG Appleseed

Overall it was pretty good, the story is way different than the original 1988 OVA. The only thing that really bugged me was that all the buildings, machines, and such were well made CG, whereas the characters were cell-shaded CG, so its a little weird. I'd give it overall an B+ or A-. I do however suggest that fans of the original watch it, as well as fans of CG Anime in general.
