Product Information

In Irvin Kershner's thriller, Faye Dunaway plays a fashion photographer who starts to "see" murders through her camera lens and gradually realizes she's being stalked by a killer. A Haunting Drama.

This is well acted but you have to watch it more than once to see what is really going on. Tommy Lee Jones and Faye Dunaway both played their roles in an excellent manner as the true actors that they are. Due to her character seeing murders while they are happening might confuse the viewer and her character as we see her. It is possible that the movie was made to keep us guessing. The bottom line is that they loved each other

  • Great Stylistic Thriller with a Surprise Twist Ending

This film has a great cast of: Faye Dunaway, Tommy Lee Jones, Brad Dourif, Raul Julia, Rene Auberjonois and Michael Tucker. The acting is good and the character development is well done. The story opens with the promotion of the main character's new book of photography and takes the viewer on a ride from there with several twists and turns until it leads you to the surprise ending; see if you can guess the killer. The main chacater is haunted by visions of murders and violence and then she re-creates them in her high fashion photography with beautiful models. She has some type of link to the killer that at times causes her to see through his eyes when he is about to committ a murder. Unfortunately for her, he is stalking and killing her friends and colleagues. She is tormented by ...

  • Good Mystery/Drama That Stands the Test of Time

Interesting plot line with surprisingly chic and sleek cinematography. Dunaway is a bit "Fay Ray" with her a little-over-the-top screams and "maiden-in-distress" role, but great performances from a young(er) Tommy Lee Jones and Brad Dourif ("One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Chucky"'s voice!) Didn't see the end coming, either. Interesting is the portrayal of the early-seventies fashion world; it could be out of the pages of "W" magazine today, fashion indeed does a complete 360. Whomever did the shots of the pictures in the movie could give Annie Liebowitz a run for her money. Plot has a few holes, but nothing's perfect, and this is an awful lot better then some of the "been there, seen it" suspense/thrillers produced today.

  • Brilliant, Classic Murder Mystery

This is a classic horror murder mystery. Outstanding story, acting, filming, and overall production quality. It belongs in the pantheon of greatest mystery films that include Psycho, Rear Window, Wait Until Dark. It was Tommy Lee Jones break-out film too.

  • Eyes of Laura Mars

Laura Mars is a very successful high-end fashion and advertising photographer. Detective John Neville notes striking similarities between her art photos and those of actual crime scenes. Although suspicious of her, he soon realizes that she hasn't been involved in any of the crimes but can see what is happening through the eyes of the killer. After her friends and some of her models are killed, she joins forces with Neville to identify the killer before she too becomes a victim. Dunaway is always consistent in delivering good performances and this one is no exception. Clever story, and good original. Adds a nice twist to the usual cops-hunting-murderer story. Good atmosphere and cinematography all around, with some strong direction. The tense moments are well done. Some nice, genuine, ...
