All I can tell you is my dog has only barked about four or five times since I got it. I do not believe he is getting shocked because he is not reacting to that. I'm thinking I may just be on vibration. Instructions are not real clear to me because I'm 80, the collar does not respond the way the instructions say it should. For instance showing a barking dog on the device.

Note: if sensitivity is set too high I saw where another of our dogs standing beside the one with a collar it can set off the collar correction. I simply lowered the control to eliminate the wrong dog being corrected.
