Being a big fan of the Blade movies I must say that this game overall did the movie franchise a great deal of justice. When playing the game there's not a lot left to the imagination. It's pretty straight forward type of game playing. Walk into a room and annihilate anything alive and proceed to the next room and repeat. The only thing that is a bit annoying when playing the game is the mazes in which the levels are constructed in. In other words, most levels have a lot of exploring to do and to proceed to another part of a certain level you must go an opposite direction way out of the way to explore to find something you need to proceed on to finish a level. So when playing recall your steps frequently and feel comfortable to explore around. The animation of the levels and characters are pretty good and full of depth in my view. And you get a lot of Techno music throughout the game to pay Blade true homage. The hand to hand combat controls are a little strange on here because it's all based around what direction you push the joystick to make Blade do certain things. You do it enough though and it's not a big issue to navigate with. The game is overly easy though at the end of the day. If you're committed enough to the cause you could probably beat it in a day if determined enough. But I recommend it to any Blade fan out there to play. For a game very loosely based off the movie it's pretty cool.Read full review
I bought this to relive my PS2 days with a bit of nostalgia. This was one of the games from my childhood that I had almost forgotten. I should have left it that way, ha! Excluding how cheesy or cheap it is, or how re-used enemies, repeated lines, and overall lame-ness, makes the game very low budget and painful, the development to just PLAYING it is atrocious. The controls are opposite from any game I have ever played (even for its time). Only the left analog controls movement, while the right analog does what your buttons should, like attack, punch, etc. This makes playing the game, and fighting enemies behind you, very difficult, and you are constantly bombarded from all sides by enemies. I remember why I hated many games back then - they were so damn hard, and in this case, because of poorly designed controls. Weapons also do not make sense, your sword (AS EVEN PICTURED ON THE FRONT) can almost never be used, only for seconds at a time once or twice each stage. With all of the extra ammo you can get for guns, you run out of ammo after a few uses, leaving you to fight multiple enemies with only hand-to-hand combat (which as I said is very hard with the controls anyway). And the throwing star you have (utilized for multiple enemies) has to be 'charged up' by holding a button down, however if ANYONE HITS YOU you LOSE THE CHARGE, making using it when fighting multiple enemies impossible. It all comes dow to poor game development and contradictory design. The controls make navigating impossible, the weapons defeat their own purpose, and overall its a damn hard game because of it. Its nostalgic, but as an adult who has played many games, new and old, this one is very bad. Not just because it's old and Im used to new games-even for its time, it is so bad it makes it difficult. I still play it for old times sake, but only for a few minutes at a time. Not that a review for a game over 10 years old is really needed, lol.Read full review
This game maybe dated in some ways like alot of ps2 games but this game is still enjoyable especially since we don’t have alot of blade games it’s one of my personal favorites 👍🏾

Not a bad game for its time. Unique game style that I feel should’ve been used in other games. Perhaps there’s been a few others or currently. Using the joystick to pick any direction to attack your opponent is kinda cool idea.
