It is appreciated that StarVista put together the time and effort required to produce this DVD set, Collector's Edition of Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. Those of us that are old enough (45+) to know and remember many of the celebrities featured in these many Roasts can take a nostalgia trip to enjoy showbiz personalities who have for the most part passed-on including the late great Don Rickles, who like Dean Martin, is a persisting presence in the 15 Celebrity Roasts presented in this DVD set. The quality of this video production is better than I could have hoped when you consider that it is drawn from stock footage of mid-70's TV. The edits for the removal of commercial breaks can be a bit choppy at times but don't really detract from the presentation itself. Celebrity roastees in this set include Bob Hope, Johnny Carson, Jimmy Stewart, Jack Benny, Lucille Ball, Dean Martin, Don Rickles, Jackie Gleason and Sammy Davis Jr., to name just some.Read full review

This is what comedy and humor is all about and what is missing from today's celebrities. Who can replace Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Rich Little? These comedians, actors and actresses used talent, timing and intellect to utter some of the funniest lines you will ever hear. There's innuendo and sometimes poor judgement, but never obscenity. This collection includes a wide variety of "honored" guests and speakers from a golden age of Hollywood, the likes of which we will probably never seen again. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed watching the featured guests in movies and on television or radio.
Loved the sheer variety of celebrity roasts and wonderful special features that are a marked improvement over the bare-bones DVDs put out by another company some years earlier.

These Celebrity Roasts represent old TV and Hollywood humor from the 70s mostly. The Good: if you are old enough to remember these "Stars" then the humor will seem much more topical. The Bad: if you don't know who these guys are, then the humor may be lost on you. Video quality is only fair to good, so don't expect high definition. I found them entertaining and amusing and part of an era that is now long gone. So if you are old enough to remember the Golden Age of TV (and Movies 1940 thru the 60s), then you should find these Roasts very entertaining.
All the Dean Martin Roasts were great. These are keepers. One Disc was received damaged by the Post Office but the rest are in great shape.
