Good price for excellent quality. Unlike cheap pencils, these sharpen well, presumably because the wood Staedtler use is of better quality than that in cheap pencils -- I often have to try so many times to sharpen cheap ones that the pencil is used up after four or five sharpenings!

super high quality pencils the other cheap ones you can buy never seem to last very long and the leads are shattered resulting in constant sharpening however these are top quality and can take a knock or two without damaging the Leads

Long established brand name and better quality product. Was given a box of cheapo pencils some time ago they were difficult to sharpen properly with a blade and when dropped the lead always shattered throughout the pencil. These are easy to sharpen properly, stay sharp longer and are much more durable.

Only problem is that they come wrapped in an elastic band. Would've thought it would be packaged in a box like in the photo shown to protect the nibs. They came in tact thought and lovely. Always trust staedtler products.

I had a pencil like this that i used when i was wallpapering as it was ideal but sadly i wore it out. I saw these and got them immediately as they are a brilliant pencil made in Germany.

I bought these for doing shading and they are terrible. Though Staedtler market them as 2B pencils, they're really nothing like 2B pencils --- they are much lighter than 2B (more like HB). The leads might be made with a special break-resistant compound, but that comes at the price of their being far too light in tone. Despite their light tone, they feel greasy, smudge easily and wear down quickly. In other words, they have all the drawbacks of a 2B pencil with none of the benefits. They're useless for shading. In brief, if you want 2B pencils for sketching or shading, avoid these.

The only thing that did disappoint me was that the pencils were loose and not in a plastic sleeve as pictured because the set was to go in a Christmas Shoebox for children in other countries who otherwise might not have a gift at Christmas. But otherwise good value.
