    great "steel" tone

    I play in a metal band and prefer the sound of the stainless steel strings over the nickel ones. I love the brightness and the punch they provide, but always hated the "touch" and how they are eating my fingers. Tried the Elixirs I got what I wanted. Great tone, soft touch, easy (and faster) playing. Definitely lasts longer than an usual stainless steel set, but after a couple of months the coating layer started to peel off of the strings :-(

    Have been using Elixir strings for years...

    I can usually kill a set of strings in one gig, but when I first used elixir strings I found that the web coating on the strings kept them sounding consistent and clean even beyond my usual string change cycle. I would recommend them to everyone. They’re not as bright as other strings, but they are consistent longer than all the others.
