The Pentax Optio E80 offers a 10 megapixel camera from a 'brand name' company, which I bought at auction at a very reasonable price. The camera's great virtue is its extreme simplicity. If one is familiar with digital cameras, the buttons and settings are intuitive. The camera requires a smart card to operate, and runs on two AA batteries. The pictures thus far have turned out well. This camera is a point and shoot, but falls on the "real camera with basic features" side of the tracks rather than the "cheap camera with low quality" side of the tracks.
Purchased this for my parents who are not electronically inclined by any stretch of the imagination. This camera is simple to use. The labels (on/off, menu) are in a larger print making it easy to see. This is a very easy camera to operate and runs on regular batteries. Couldn't be happier with picture quality for the price.
I got this camera two weeks ago and the software isnt working on my computer but I like how the pictures turn out when I print them at the camera store
