Axle will not take a sealed bearing without lathe work. Splines are sloppy on a Ford 28 splined spider gear.

These axles are machined for 1.562" Id Bearings and Ad says that. You used a (514003)1.531 bearing and had to machine the axle because you used the wrong bearing. The bearing you used had a wider inner race than the A20 Bearings that was recommended so you had to shorten the Bearing spacer. As far as the sloppy spline it could be my partially my new axle or it could be your used Spider gear. No way to know without checking out the measurements...................Hubert Craver
