Notes
2010 live release from the Alt-Rock duo. In the summer of 2007, shortly after the release of their sixth album Icky Thump, The White Stripes headed north of their hometown of Detroit to embark on an ambitious journey across Canada. The plan was to play a show in every province and territory in Canada, from B.C. to Newfoundland to Nunavut. What Northern Lights does best, is document one of the biggest bands in the world, playing to local crowds in small towns. This forced a band that had been together for a decade to go back to a place reminiscent of the first shows they ever played together. For the first time in a long time, no one knew who they were and they had to make a first impression with their music. 16 tracks.

I bought this CD DVD because I am a White Stripes fan. Their music is raw and edgy and that is one of the main things I like about them. The amount of music coming out of 2 people is amazing. The Stripes goes back to sound that was heard in the 60's, without all the fancy electronic gadgets and it is real. Jack is very talented and a great showman. One thing that was nice is the fact that it was G rated in my opinion and not a bunch of filth, like some rockers and of course rappers. Well done on a budget. It also gave a look at the people and fans in the Canadian Provinces. On the CD, I was hoping for a little more polish on the quality of their performance. I realize this is part of their appeal, but for the CD, they should have picked the best of in some cases. The ...
