Amazing series that will stir nostalgic memories. Great to finally have it on DVD! A pioneer series in mixing real life actors with animated characters. Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher enjoy numerous adventures in an world of animated foes and friends from the miniature world of Lilliput to Don Quijote's "La Mancha". Enjoyable!

The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a short-lived, amazingly produced program fit for people of all ages to watch. The combination of real characters mixed with animation was an idea that was ahead of its time in 1968. It is great to know that this program is available for the public to have today.

I vividly recall this series as part of NBC's 1968-69 schedule. A clever blend of live action and animation, the New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was produced by the legendary Hanna-Barbera company. Today's television technology reveals the wonderful detail and colors of the animation which could not be clearly discerned fifty years ago. Michael Shea is engaging as Huckleberry Finn and Lu Ann Haslam is especially effective as Becky Thatcher( I think every boy in my 4th Grade class had a crush on her!). Fifty years later I have a renewed admiration for the portrayal of Tom Sawyer by Kevin Schultz. He was clearly one of the best child actors of his era and he winds-up stealing many of the scenes in which he appears(it's a shame the networks could not develop a starring vehicle for Kevin ... I vividly recall this series as part of NBC's 1968-69 schedule.
