  • A fun ride into film making

    In Chapter 23 of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Sean Patrick Flannery expands his performance as an actor to playing an actor! Strong performances highlight this episode as Indy is sent to Hollywood to try to rein in Erich Von Stroheim. This particular performance is so over the top, it reminds those of us who have studied Hollywood history of what a glorious time it was for out-of-control directors. A surprise appearance by Wyatt Earp in the second half of the film gives good historical reference to what happened to the "cowboys" of the the old west when the old west became a thing of the past. Also a very down-to-earth John Ford shows how popular movies were frequently made in five days or less. All in all, not the best of the series, but a great lead in to Chapter 23, Temple of ...
