Decieded to drill a hole and bolt it through the desk as the shelf has a support bar running along the edge. This is the reason I went for this as it has 2 options to clamp to desk. Like the option to place 2 USB ports (cables not supplied) in the clamp base which I may use at a later date. So far, very happy with the purchase. Incredibly fast delivery.
