Mexican wrestler Eddie Guerrero has packed more incident and drama into his life than most folk would care for. Hugely popular in his native country, he formed part of an acclaimed Mexican tag team who took the wrestling world by storm. His globe-straddling fame resulted in a move to Japan, but when he returned to the USA things went drastically wrong for the extravagant sports star. A near-death experience in a car crash should have been a warning sign that his lifestyle was out of control. But Guerrero took the incident as an indication that he was invincible, and lapsed into drug addiction. Incredibly, his story progresses to take further twists and turns, including a resilience which saw Guerrero pull himself back from the brink of self-destruction. His amazing tale doubles up as a fascinating look at the adverse effects fame can have on a top athlete, and is presented here in all its blood-splattered glory.
